Capture changelog

Capture 2.16 is out. This release adds five more places to send your captures, brings Capture to Ukrainian, and makes it smoother to add several thoughts in a row.

Five new export destinations

You can now send captures to Google Calendar, Amazing Marvin, Zotero, Tana, and Workflowy. Turn a thought into an event, task, research item, or nested note without manually moving it between apps.

Capture in Ukrainian

Capture is now available in Ukrainian across the app, widgets, Shortcuts, and share extension.

Keep capturing from the keyboard

Submit a capture with Return and the keyboard comes straight back, making it faster to add several captures in a row.

Everything else

• Fixed image exports to mymind.
• On Mac, you can now use Command-click and Shift-click to select multiple captures in grid view.
• Fixed the capture list sliding beneath the navigation bar on older versions of macOS.

Capture 2.15 is out. This release lets you give Capture a new look, send captures directly to more connected services, and start a voice capture from more places.

Make Capture yours

On iPhone, you can now choose the Default theme, switch to a clean Minimal theme, or select your own custom color. Your choice applies across the app, widgets, and share extension.

Seven connected export destinations

Capture can now send your notes and links directly to Notion, Supernotes, Readwise, Reader, Raindrop.io, Mem, and mymind. Add the service in Export Settings, enter its access details, and send captures without an extra copy-and-paste step.

Start voice capture faster

Open Voice Capture from a Home Screen widget, Control Center, or the Capture app icon. Capture opens directly into voice recording, so you can save a thought with fewer steps.

Capture in Raycast

The new Raycast integration lets you create, search, update, archive, and delete captures from your Mac. You can also capture clipboard content, create lists, and use Capture from Raycast AI.

Everything else

• Right-to-left text and mixed-direction text now align and preview correctly.
• Moving captures out of Archive now restores them automatically, including bulk moves.
• Drag and drop works more reliably in Capture on Mac.
• The Safari extension now uses the same editing flow as the share extension.
• Fixed App Store links being saved as broken images.
• Fixed list labels remaining visible after a capture was removed from a list.
• Improved the setup and reliability of connected exports, including mymind.

Capture 2.14 is out. This release makes it faster to capture the web page in front of you, easier to send captures straight where they belong, and more flexible to browse, organize, and automate everything you have saved.

Capture from Safari

Capture now includes a Safari extension, so you can save the web page you are viewing with one click. It is a quick way to turn the current tab into a capture without switching apps or copying the link first.

Export without saving first

Long-press Submit to send what you are writing directly to an export destination. You can capture something, choose where it should go, and skip adding it to your inbox when it is just passing through.

New display modes

Choose how your captures are shown: list, compact, or grid. Use the regular list when you want more context, compact mode when you want to scan more items at once, and grid when your captures are more visual.

More ways to organize and automate

Type # while writing to quickly choose a list, once the shortcut is enabled in Preferences. Shortcuts also gets new actions for creating, updating, moving, archiving, and managing captures, so more of Capture can fit into your automations.

• Things exports can now choose when to-dos should appear.
• Capture now detects phone numbers.
• On Apple Watch, Double Tap can start a capture.

Capture 2.13 is out. This release puts one important capture right on your Home Screen, adds new ways to split and sort what you've captured, and makes it simple to take all your data with you.

A Single Capture widget

Keep one capture that matters right on your Home Screen. Add the new Single Capture widget, pick the capture you want to keep in view, and it's always a glance away: a list you're working through, a note you keep coming back to, or a reminder you don't want to lose.

Split captures

The natural companion to merging. When a single capture has grown to hold a few different things (some text, a link, an image), you can now split it into separate captures in one step, so each piece can stand on its own.

Export all your data

A new option in Settings exports everything you've captured at once, bundled into a single zip file. It's the easiest way to keep a backup or move your captures somewhere else, all in one file.

• Sort any list by name, creation date, or modification date.
• Drag and drop images and attachments straight into the editor.
• Faster link previews throughout the app.
• On Mac, open a capture in its own pinned window with ⇧⌘P.
• On Mac, Capture now hides its Dock icon after you close the last window.
• Fixed times you write in a note being removed when it's edited.
• Sharing several images at once now imports all of them, instead of only the first.
• Fixed "message:" and email links being turned into broken links.

Capture 2.12 is out. This release adds a big batch of new places to send your captures, a way to combine several into one, and a couple of features that make Capture feel right at home on the Mac.

13 new export destinations

You can now send captures straight to 13 more apps: Linear, Gmail, Godspeed, GoodTask, Calendar 366, Remind Me Faster, Notebooks, Paper, Textastic, Opener, Noted, Octarine, and Everlog. Whatever your setup looks like, there's a good chance Capture now fits into it.

Merge captures

Select several captures and combine them into a single one. It's the fastest way to pull a handful of loose thoughts together into one note.

Paste to Capture on Mac

On the Mac, you can now paste text, links, and images directly into Capture to instantly create a capture. Copy something anywhere, paste it in, and you're done.

Control Center widget on Mac

The Control Center widget is now available on macOS, so a new capture is always one click away.
