Catch a task or plan in Capture before sending it to OmniFocus. Create an OmniFocus task from text, a link, or an attachment, with optional project matching, due date, and flag state.

What gets sent to OmniFocus
- Text becomes the task name.
- Links use fetched title as task name and URL as note.
- Images and files are base64 attachments with their filename.
- Capture’s selected date becomes the due date.
Set up OmniFocus in Capture
- Open Capture Settings, choose Export, then tap Configure if this is your first destination or Add new destination.
- Choose OmniFocus from the app picker.
- Install OmniFocus and optionally enter a project name and choose whether tasks are flagged.
- Review the destination name and icon, then tap Save.

Example: a quick capture to OmniFocus
Set Project to “Launch” and enable Flag. Export a release checklist file to create a flagged task in that project with the file attached.
Send the capture
- Open an existing Capture and choose its configured OmniFocus export action.
- Capture hands off only the supported types listed above. Complete any confirmation or compose screen shown by OmniFocus.
Limits and troubleshooting
Limits
- Adding a project may not display OmniFocus’s edit preview as expected, although saving should work.
- Capture does not verify project existence.
Troubleshooting
- If the task is not filed correctly, check the project name.
- If the preview looks incomplete, save and verify the task in OmniFocus as noted by the app’s configuration help.
