Catch a task or plan in Capture before sending it to Things. Create a Things to-do with project/area, heading, tags, creation date, and Today/This Evening scheduling controls.

What gets sent to Things

  • Text becomes the to-do title.
  • Links use fetched page title as title and URL as notes.
  • Capture creation date is included.
  • When is taken from the destination setting, or from the Capture start date when the setting is None.

Set up Things in Capture

  1. Open Capture Settings, choose Export, then tap Configure if this is your first destination or Add new destination.
  2. Choose Things from the app picker.
  3. Install Things, then optionally enter existing tags, a project/area title, and a heading within a project.
  4. Review the destination name and icon, then tap Save.

This destination appears only for content it can receive.

Example: a quick capture to Things

Set List to “Website”, Heading to “Next”, Tags to “release”, and When to This Evening. The exported Capture becomes a scheduled to-do under that heading.

Send the capture

  1. Open an existing Capture and choose its configured Things export action.
  2. Capture hands off only the supported types listed above. Complete any confirmation or compose screen shown by Things.

Limits and troubleshooting

Limits

  • Capture does not create missing Things tags, lists, or headings.
  • Images and files are unsupported.
  • A legacy Things configuration exists only for saved backward compatibility and is not a separate destination.

Troubleshooting

  • If routing fails, match the Things list and heading titles exactly.
  • If the Capture date is ignored, set When to None; Today/This Evening override it.
