What gets sent to Apple Mail

  • Text becomes the email body.
  • Links put the fetched title and URL in the body.
  • Images and files become mail attachments with their filename and content type.
  • The subject is “Capture created on” plus the Capture creation date, and configured notes are added to the message.

Set up Apple Mail in Capture

  1. Open Capture Settings, choose Export, then tap Configure if this is your first destination or Add new destination.
  2. Choose Apple Mail from the app picker.
  3. Make sure a mail account is configured on the device.
  4. Enter a receiver email address; Capture will not save the destination without it.
  5. Review the destination name and icon, then tap Save.

Example: a quick capture to Apple Mail

Create a destination for your archive address, add “Filed from Capture” as Notes, then export a receipt PDF. Capture opens a message to that address with the PDF attached.

  1. Open an existing Capture and choose its configured Apple Mail export action.
  2. Capture hands off only the supported types listed above. Complete any confirmation or compose screen shown by Apple Mail.

Limits and troubleshooting

Limits

  • A receiver address is mandatory.
  • Sending is completed in the system mail UI; Capture only considers sent or saved drafts complete.

Troubleshooting

  • If no composer appears, check that the device has an available mail account.
  • If Save reports an email error, fill the receiver address and try again.
