What gets sent to Siri Shortcuts
- Text and phone captures are sent as shortcut text input, including Capture’s selected date where applicable.
- Links are sent as the absolute URL.
- The exact configured shortcut name is used.
Set up Siri Shortcuts in Capture
- Open Capture Settings, choose Export, then tap Configure if this is your first destination or Add new destination.
- Choose Siri Shortcuts from the app picker.
- Create or identify a shortcut that accepts text input.
- Enter its exact name in Capture; the name is required.
- Review the destination name and icon, then tap Save.

Example: a quick capture to Siri Shortcuts
Create a shortcut named “Add to Reading Log” that accepts text, then use that exact name in Capture. Exporting a URL runs the shortcut with the URL as input.
Send the capture
- Open an existing Capture and choose its configured Siri Shortcuts export action.
- Capture hands off only the supported types listed above. Complete any confirmation or compose screen shown by Siri Shortcuts.
Limits and troubleshooting
Limits
- Images and files are not passed.
- Capture cannot inspect what the shortcut does or recover from changes to its name.
- Siri Shortcuts is excluded from Add all installed apps and must be added manually.
Troubleshooting
- If Save says Name cannot be empty, enter the shortcut name.
- If the wrong shortcut runs or none opens, match the name exactly in Shortcuts.
