What gets sent to WhatsApp

  • Text becomes the drafted WhatsApp message.
  • Links send title plus URL when metadata exists, otherwise the URL.
  • The optional phone number is placed in the wa.me path.

Set up WhatsApp in Capture

  1. Open Capture Settings, choose Export, then tap Configure if this is your first destination or Add new destination.
  2. Choose WhatsApp from the app picker.
  3. Install WhatsApp and optionally enter a phone number in international format; leave it blank to choose a contact.
  4. Review the destination name and icon, then tap Save.

Send the capture

  1. Open an existing Capture and choose its configured WhatsApp export action.
  2. Capture hands off only the supported types listed above. Complete any confirmation or compose screen shown by WhatsApp.

Limits and troubleshooting

Limits

  • Images and files are unsupported through this route.
  • Capture opens a draft and does not send automatically.
  • WhatsApp is intentionally excluded from Add all installed apps and must be added manually.

Troubleshooting

  • If the wrong contact opens, verify country code and digits.
  • Leave the field blank when you want WhatsApp’s contact picker.
