What gets sent to Apple Notes

  • Text and phone captures are passed to the shortcut as text.
  • Link captures pass the absolute URL.
  • The bundled shortcut performs the Notes action.

Set up Apple Notes in Capture

  1. Open Capture Settings, choose Export, then tap Configure if this is your first destination or Add new destination.
  2. Choose Apple Notes from the app picker.
  3. Choose Apple Notes in Capture and tap Setup integration with Shortcuts.
  4. Continue, tap Add to Shortcuts in the share sheet, add the bundled shortcut, then return to Capture and complete setup.
  5. Review the destination name and icon, then tap Save.

Limits and troubleshooting

Limits

  • Images and files are not offered to this destination.
  • Capture does not expose a target Notes folder; behavior after handoff is defined by the bundled shortcut.
  • Deleting or renaming the shortcut can break the integration.

Troubleshooting

  • Use Re-configure integration with Shortcuts if the shortcut is missing.
  • On macOS, Capture checks for the exact shortcut name before completing setup; add it before continuing.
