Use Capture as a fast inbox before an idea becomes a note in Drafts. Create a Drafts draft, file it in Inbox or Archive, attach tags, flag it, and optionally run a named Drafts action.
A quick capture workflow for Drafts

Write or share the thought into Capture while it is fresh.

Save the Capture without stopping to organize the destination.
- 03Send to Drafts
Use your configured export action when the capture is ready.
What gets sent to Drafts
- Text is sent as draft text, including Capture’s selected date where the export format supports it.
- Links are sent as their absolute URL.
- Each comma-separated tag is sent as a separate tag parameter.
Set up Drafts in Capture
- Open Capture Settings, choose Export, then tap Configure if this is your first destination or Add new destination.
- Choose Drafts from the app picker.
- Install Drafts and configure the destination folder and optional action name.
- Review the destination name and icon, then tap Save.
Supported Capture types
This destination appears only for content it can receive.

Example: a quick capture to Drafts
Set Action to “Process Inbox” and tag to “capture”. Exporting meeting notes creates the draft and immediately runs that Drafts action.
Send the capture
- Open an existing Capture and choose its configured Drafts export action.
- Capture hands off only the supported types listed above. Complete any confirmation or compose screen shown by Drafts.
Limits and troubleshooting
Limits
- Files and images are unsupported.
- Action names are passed through and must exist in Drafts.
Troubleshooting
- If the action does not run, match its name exactly.
- If tags are combined unexpectedly, separate them with commas.
