Quick Notes for Octarine

Use Capture as a fast inbox before an idea becomes a note in Octarine. Append a Capture to a specific Octarine note or today’s daily note, with workspace, template, position, separator, replace, and open controls.

To send a capture to Octarine, open Capture Settings, choose Export, and add Octarine as a destination. Install Octarine, choose Create Note or Daily Note, and provide a relative note Path for Create Note. Text becomes note content with Capture’s selected date where applicable. Links are sent as Markdown when title metadata is available, otherwise as the URL. Octarine is offered as a destination for Text and Links captures.

What gets sent to Octarine

  • Text becomes note content with Capture’s selected date where applicable.
  • Links are sent as Markdown when title metadata is available, otherwise as the URL.
  • Daily Note sends date=today; Create Note sends the trimmed path.

Set up Octarine in Capture

  1. Open Capture Settings, choose Export, then tap Configure if this is your first destination or Add new destination.
  2. Choose Octarine from the app picker.
  3. Install Octarine, choose Create Note or Daily Note, and provide a relative note Path for Create Note.
  4. Review the destination name and icon, then tap Save.

This destination appears only for content it can receive.

Example: a quick capture to Octarine

Set Path to “inbox/capture”, Position to Top, and leave Replace Content off. New Captures are inserted at the top of that note.

Send the capture

  1. Open an existing Capture and choose its configured Octarine export action.
  2. Capture hands off only the supported types listed above. Complete any confirmation or compose screen shown by Octarine.

Limits and troubleshooting

Limits

  • Create Note requires a nonblank path.
  • Images and files are unsupported.
  • Workspace and template names are not validated.

Troubleshooting

  • If Save reports Path is required, enter a workspace-relative path or choose Daily Note.
  • If prior content disappears, disable Replace Content.
