What gets sent to Textastic

  • Text becomes file content and includes Capture’s selected date where applicable.
  • Links become title plus URL when metadata exists, otherwise the URL.
  • Action, location, path, filename, and external UUID are sent to Textastic.

Set up Textastic in Capture

  1. Open Capture Settings, choose Export, then tap Configure if this is your first destination or Add new destination.
  2. Choose Textastic from the app picker.
  3. Use Capture on iOS/iPadOS/visionOS and install Textastic.
  4. Choose action and storage. For an external folder, copy its UUID from Textastic’s Copy Identifier (UUID) menu.
  5. Review the destination name and icon, then tap Save.

This destination appears only for content it can receive.

Example: a quick capture to Textastic

Choose Append, iCloud, path “Logs”, and file “capture.md”. Each exported Capture is added to that Markdown file.

Send the capture

  1. Open an existing Capture and choose its configured Textastic export action.
  2. Capture hands off only the supported types listed above. Complete any confirmation or compose screen shown by Textastic.

Limits and troubleshooting

Limits

  • Textastic is excluded from Capture’s macOS destination picker.
  • Append and Replace require a filename.
  • External storage requires a folder UUID.
  • Attachments are unsupported.

Troubleshooting

  • If Save fails, add the external UUID or required filename.
  • If Textastic writes elsewhere, verify Location and Path.
